Brian Cable is Acting Executive Director and General Counsel in PNNL’s Office of General Counsel. In this role, Brian manages the legal and intellectual property law functions at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). In addition to providing oversight to the Office of General Counsel, Brian is hands-on with a wide variety of legal issues at the Laboratory, including conflict of interests, real property, intergovernmental personnel assignments, government contracts, scientific integrity and misconduct, and litigation.
Prior to joining PNNL in 2013, Brian was a partner with a large firm in Portland, Oregon, with primary areas of practice focused on general business law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and securities law. Prior to law school, Brian spent some time working as a securities and insurance broker and an in-patient psychiatric counselor.
Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Washington State University and a juris doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School.
