The Guest House at PNNL

Computer Network Access

The Guest House at PNNL provides full Internet access in the following ways:

Using the Wireless Internet Connection/Fast Ethernet Network if you have an Ethernet/Fast Ethernet network card in your laptop or PC.

  • The Wireless Connection can be accessed using the Guest House pass code. The pass code will be listed in your room. Every unit in the Guest House has at least one network outlet connected to the Network. Any visitor to the facility can connect their own computer to this network and gain access to the Network. This will allow visitors full Internet access. In addition, it is possible to connect to the PNNL/EMSL network from the Guest House if you meet the access criteria and satisfy security requirements. Further information is available when you arrive at the Guest House or through your host before arrival.

Using a modem and your own Internet Service Provider

  • If your computer has a modem but no network card, you will only be able to connect to the Internet if you have your own Internet Service Provider (ISP). There is a data port on the underside of every telephone in the facility which will allow you to connect to your own ISP. Please note that if your ISP does not have a local or toll-free number, you will need a telephone charge card and will incur long distance charges.
