About the series:

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Lockheed Martin, and Washington State University Tri-Cities (WSU-TC) are teaming to host the speaker series dedicated to educating stakeholders, the community, and other interested individuals and organizations on what it takes to successfully develop a research park. Speakers will share their experiences in locating federal funding and investors, recruiting tenants, exploring ways to use sustainable and green technologies when developing research parks, and how to successfully collaborate with universities, national laboratories, and industrial interests.

Who's the speaker?

The event's speaker, Theddi Wright Chappell, managing director of the Cushman & Wakefield of Washington Valuation Services, Capital Markets Group and National Practice Leader of the firm's National Green Building and Sustainability Valuation and Advisory Practice. The sixth speaker in the series, Ms. Chappell will address the business case implications that various green strategies, practices, and protocols may have on property values-including research parks.

Additionally, she will identify what factors the valuation, underwriting, and investment communities consider when assessing market value, along with current trends and practices in the valuation and justification of green properties.

Ms. Chappell's experience is primarily in client solutions in both valuation and consulting assignments, with a focus on maximizing investment return and asset value. She has worked extensively with both national and international corporations, a variety of public and private entities, and members of the investment, financial, development, architectural and design communities. Additionally, she has written a number of case studies to identify the financial implications of green/sustainable elements, principles, and practices on market value.

There is no charge to attend this event; however, you must pre-register by Monday, September 7, 2009. Light reception to immediately follow sponsored by Lockheed Martin.
