About the series:

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Lockheed Martin, and Washington State University Tri-Cities (WSU-TC) are teaming to host the speaker series dedicated to educating stakeholders, the community, and other interested individuals and organizations on what it takes to successfully develop a research park. Speakers, experienced in developing research parks across the country, will share their experiences in locating federal funding and investors, recruiting tenants, and collaborating with universities, national laboratories, and industrial interests.

Who's the speaker?

Mitch Horowitz

The event's speaker, Mitch Horowitz, is Vice President and Managing Director of Battelle's Technology Partnership Practice. The fifth speaker in the series, Horowitz will discuss emerging models of 21st century research parks and closely examine best practices and national developer requirements. Additionally, he will identify how to best position a research park for development and how to successfully recruit companies based on the Park's unique assets.

Horowitz's track record of technology development includes work as a principal economic development consultant, a high-ranking state development official, and as an executive in a fast growing diversified technology firm.

His work in research park feasibility analysis and conceptual plan development includes more than eight parks across the country. Horowitz recently completed a comprehensive survey of Science & Technology parks for the Association of University Research Parks.

There is no charge to attend this event; however, you must pre-register by Monday, May 11, 2009. Light reception to immediately follow sponsored by Lockheed Martin.
