PNNL Research on HPC CCA Event Service Published in Computational Journal

An article by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory scientists Ian Gorton, Daniel Chavarria and the late Jarek Nieplocha on the "Design and implementation of a high-performance CCA event service" was published in June 2009 in the journal, Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience. In this paper, the researchers describe their implementation, experimental evaluation, and initial experience with a high-performance Common Component Architecture (CCA) event service that exploits efficient communications mechanisms commonly used on HPC platforms. The research is part of the Center for Component Technology for Terascale Simulation Software (CCTTSS) project. The CCTTSS, funded by DOE as an Integrated Software Infrastructure Center (ISIC) under the SciDAC program, is dedicated to the development of a component-based software development model suitable for the needs of high-performance scientific simulation, particularly the CCA. The center includes members from Argonne, Livermore, Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, Pacific Northwest, and Sandia National Laboratories, Indiana University and the University of Utah.  More Information . . .
