Biography

Dr. Shvartsburg is a developer of ion mobility-based methods and instrumentation, including both conventional IMS and FAIMS. Specific research areas include gas-phase ion transport, with particular application to ion mobility spectrometry (IMS and FAIMS), front-end interfaces for mass spectrometry, cell typing using MALDI-MS, gas-phase chemistry of multiply charged metal cations, structure and properties of atomic nanoclusters, photoelectron spectrometry, global molecular geometry optimization, and statistical dissociation kinetics.
