PNNL is building the science foundation necessary to accelerate high-efficiency, low-cost fuel cell technologies. We co-lead a national program, teaming with industry, academia and other government laboratories to address the challenges accelerate the development and commercialization of low-cost solid oxide fuel cells for stationary, transportation and military applications. Our research focuses on developing high-temperature materials, novel designs for fuel cells, improved manufacturing processes, fuel reformation systems, diagnostics and control systems.
