PNNL’s Deepika Malhotra was invited to join the reviewer board for the journal Minerals.

Malhotra, a chemist, will apply her expertise on designing and creating modular solvents for carbon capture, acid gas separations, catalysis, and rare earth metal extractions to provide constructive review for the submitted manuscripts.

She is one of about 200 researchers on the journal’s reviewer board. Malhotra has reviewed papers for the journal over the past few years, but this is a formal move to the reviewer board.

“Being invited to be on the reviewer board is a great honor,” Malhotra said. “I look forward to reviewing high-quality work, learning about new discoveries, and increasing the breadth of my research knowledge in this field.”

Minerals is a peer-reviewed, open access journal of natural mineral systems, mineral resources, mining, and mineral processing.

Malhotra joined PNNL in 2014. In her career, she has published more than 20 peer-reviewed and conference papers and holds three U.S. patents. She holds a doctorate in organic chemistry from the University of Louisville.
