Systems Engineering

More and more, homeland security challenges cross threats, organizations, and jurisdictions, making it vital that homeland security agencies employ robust systems engineering practices. Being able to effectively involve stakeholders from federal, state, local, and private organizations is the only way to develop, test and evaluate, and deploy technologies that address these challenges. PNNL is uniquely positioned to provide systems engineering support because the Lab has:

Systems Engineering
  • Extensive experience in applying systems engineering to technology development and test and evaluation programs for a variety of agencies
  • Testing facilities for radiation detection equipment and technologies to support explosives detection at large public venues
  • Relationships with state and local agencies in eleven Western states and the Territory of Guam.

With capabilities like these, PNNL is helping guide technology planning, development, testing, and deployment. For more information, contact at (509) 372-4655.
